I figure my first post should be about who I am and
what this blog is about, why I'm writing about what I'm writing about, etc.
I'm not the greatest at writing, so I
hope you'll bear with me;
My name is Jessica, currently I am studying
in my second year of advertising at Sheridan College. This blog is part of an
interactive marketing class, where we learn about advertising in social media,
analytics, and such. Outside of school however, I am fascinated with travel. I
have been fortunate enough to travel to a few (very few) places; my favourite
of which being New York City. However, this blog will be about the many
places I want (and hope) to go.
A lot of my inspiration for this
blog will come from a book I received this year for Christmas; The New YorkTimes 36 Hours, 150 Weekends in the USA &
Canada.

The book is a collection of "36
Hours" columns updated by Barbara Ireland that
were originally published in The New York Times. This particular
book highlights 150 cities in The USA and Canada, recommending hotels,
restaurants, and sights / attractions that are not run of the mill tourist
attractions.
I love the idea of long road trips /
just getting in a car and taking off, so this blog will be focused on places
located in the US and Canada, Ideally accessible by car. I also plan
on posting things that fuel my wanderlust like music, books, quotes
and movies.
So, thank you for taking the time to
view my blog and I hope you enjoy (or at least don't hate) the posts to come.
